So, I was online looking at Google for some relationship stuff and this random website came up. So I went on it and I saw this picture. Under it was the caption “Destructive Relationships.” The caption really got my attention so I started looking at the picture and noticed the man and the woman look naked and of course they are both in very seductive positions. It got me thinking to myself and I started asking, if a relationship is all about sex and promiscuity, does that automatically mean the relationship is destructive.  I mean my whole stance on relationships based solely on sex isn’t really a true relationship to begin with. There is no commitment and probably no love, so of course it will be a “destructive relationship” or a non-lasting one.  Of course I’m assuming all this, but generally that’s what usually happens. The website went on to list these so called “signs” of a destructive relationship. As soon as you start reading you can already tell the website is aimed at women who are having love life trouble. It talks about how the relationship should have no boundaries and if he’s holding you back then it’s not worth it and also stuff like if he’s a criminal or has addictions you shouldn’t blame yourself for what’s happening.  I kind of laughed a bit but then I realized that there are people out there who need to hear or read this sort of thing, even if it does sound a little lame to some of us. In the end, the picture sort of told me that if you throw yourself out at a guy, then of course the relationship won’t last.  But one of the main signs of mature love is that it is “enduring and sustaining because it is based on a strong foundation of friendship.” So I think enduring love does come from a relationship not solely based on sex.
